Before the Whistle Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 28, 2026

Last updated: August 28, 2026

Before the Whistle is operated by Atrione LLC. In this Privacy Policy, “Before the Whistle,” “Atrione,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Atrione LLC.

1. SCOPE

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled through:

The mobile applications are designed to minimize data collection. They do not require or permit creation of a Before the Whistle account, and routine training information remains on the user’s device. The parent- and coach-focused website uses the limited website services described below.

2. No Before the Whistle account

Before the Whistle does not require or permit creation of a Before the Whistle account. The apps do not require Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, an app-specific username, or an app-specific password.

The apps do not create user or child profiles. Because there is no Before the Whistle account, there is no Before the Whistle account record to delete.

3. Information stored locally by the apps

The apps may store the following information locally on the device:

  • workout settings and configurations;

  • workout history, session dates, round information, and active training time;

  • statistics, streaks, and delivered-command totals;

  • badges, achievements, progress, and unlock dates;

  • a randomly generated device-local identifier used to keep local records separate;

  • identifiers used locally to prevent the same workout from being processed more than once;

  • first-launch acknowledgment state;

  • limited audio-selection history;

  • limited native app-review eligibility state;

  • whether the local sample session has been used and limited sample-consumption details;

  • app data-schema information needed for compatible updates; and

  • limited Apple App Store or Google Play entitlement-verification information.

This information is used to operate workouts, remember settings, calculate local training progress, award badges, prevent duplicate processing, manage the local sample, and determine access to subscription features.

This information is not associated with a Before the Whistle account. Atrione does not receive it, use it for advertising, or synchronize it across devices. The device-local identifier is not an advertising identifier or a device fingerprint and is not transmitted to Atrione.

The apps do not ask for or collect a user’s or child’s name, birthdate, team, school, medical diagnoses, heart rate, body measurements, injuries, precise location, contacts, photographs, or voice recordings. The apps do not access HealthKit, Health Connect, the camera, the microphone, contacts, or the photo library.

4. Device backups, retention, and deletion of local app data

Local app information remains on the device until the app or its stored data is removed through the device’s operation. The apps do not currently include an in-app “delete all data” control.

Users may delete locally stored app information by uninstalling the app. Android may also allow a user to clear the app’s storage through device settings. Local information may also be removed if the device is erased or replaced.

Depending on the user’s device and backup settings, Apple or Google may include app data in an operating-system-managed device backup. Backup information is controlled by Apple or Google, not Atrione, and may remain after the app is uninstalled or may later be restored. Users should manage or delete device backups through their Apple, Google, or device settings.

Deleting the app or its local data does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Subscriptions must be cancelled through the store through which they were purchased.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes purchases and subscriptions made through the Apple App Store. Google processes purchases and subscriptions made through Google Play. Atrione does not receive a user’s full payment-card number or store-account password.

The apps may process limited product, transaction, and verified-entitlement information needed to present products, complete a requested purchase, restore eligible purchases, determine subscription status, and provide temporary offline access. Depending on the platform, this may include:

  • product identifier;

  • transaction or entitlement status;

  • verification time;

  • expiration date;

  • cancellation, revocation, grace-period, or billing-retry status; and

  • store or test environment.

The apps may cache a minimal, previously verified entitlement record locally for limited temporary offline access. This cache does not contain a raw payment-card number, store credentials, or an app-account password.

Purchase information is associated with the purchaser’s Apple Account or Google Account through the applicable store, not through a Before the Whistle account. Restoring purchases refreshes eligible store entitlement only. It does not restore local workout history, settings, statistics, streaks, achievements, badges, or sample-session status.

Apple or Google may make limited sales, transaction, refund, subscription, diagnostic, or store-performance information available to Atrione through their developer services. Apple and Google independently process store-account, payment, subscription, backup, and related information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Subscription expiration, cancellation, billing retry, or revocation does not itself delete locally stored workout progress.

6. Support communications

The apps do not automatically attach workout history, badges, identifiers, diagnostics, or other local app information to a support email.

Atrione collects information directly when someone voluntarily contacts `support@beforethewhistlewrestling.com`. Depending on what the sender chooses to provide, a support communication may include:

  • the sender’s name and email address;

  • the content of a question, request, feedback, complaint, or legal notice;

  • screenshots or attachments;

  • device model, operating-system version, app version, or technical details;

  • subscription or transaction information voluntarily provided by the sender; and

  • other information the sender chooses to include.

Atrione uses support information to:

  • respond to requests;

  • troubleshoot problems and provide customer support;

  • improve the apps and website;

  • document important support, security, or legal matters;

  • prevent misuse or fraud; and

  • comply with applicable law.

Support communications are processed and stored using Google’s email services. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where Google or its service providers operate.

Routine support communications are generally retained for up to 24 months after the support matter is closed, unless a shorter period is practical or a longer period is reasonably necessary for an unresolved dispute, security issue, fraud prevention, tax or accounting requirement, legal hold, insurance matter, or other legal obligation.

A sender may request deletion of support information by emailing `support@beforethewhistlewrestling.com`. Atrione will evaluate the request and delete information it controls when reasonably practicable and legally permitted.

7. Website information, cookies, and analytics

The Before the Whistle website is intended primarily for parents, legal guardians, coaches, and other adults seeking information about the product. It is not directed to children under 13.

The website is hosted by Squarespace and uses Squarespace cookies and analytics and Google Analytics. Squarespace and Google Analytics may receive limited technical information from a browser or hosting infrastructure, including:

  • IP address;

  • browser and device type;

  • operating system;

  • requested pages and referring page;

  • approximate location derived from an IP address;

  • date, time, and interaction information; and

  • security, diagnostic, and server-log information.

Atrione uses this information to operate and secure the website, understand general website use, diagnose technical problems, and improve website content. Atrione does not use website analytics for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Google Analytics advertising features, Google Signals, remarketing, and personalized-advertising integrations are not enabled for the website. Google Analytics’ configured retention setting generally retains user- and event-level analytics data for two months. Squarespace-hosted information is retained according to Atrione’s settings and Squarespace’s applicable practices.

Visitors may use browser settings and any cookie choices presented by the website to control or delete cookies. Blocking some essential cookies may affect website operation.

The website does not currently offer a newsletter or product-announcement email sign-up. Atrione will update this Privacy Policy before introducing a newsletter or similar direct-marketing collection.

8. Children’s privacy and supervision

The mobile apps are general-audience wrestling training tools. They are not directed to children under 13, but their content may be appropriate for children age 6 or older when a parent or legal guardian determines that use is suitable and provides appropriate supervision.

The apps do not create child profiles, request a child’s identity or age, or transmit routine workout settings, history, statistics, streaks, badges, achievements, or local identifiers to Atrione.

Children under 13 should not independently use the website, email support, submit attachments, or otherwise provide personal information to Atrione. A parent or legal guardian should make any support request involving a child.

If Atrione learns that it received personal information directly from a child under 13 without appropriate parental involvement, Atrione will use the information only as reasonably necessary to respond to the situation, protect the child or others, comply with law, or delete the information.

A parent or legal guardian who believes a child provided personal information may contact `support@beforethewhistlewrestling.com` to request access to or deletion of that information.

9. Analytics, advertising, sale, sharing, and tracking

The iOS and Android apps do not contain Atrione-operated advertising, behavioral analytics, crash-reporting, attribution, or tracking systems. They do not use advertising identifiers and do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Website analytics are limited to the practices described in Section 6.

Atrione does not:

  • sell personal information;

  • share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;

  • serve third-party advertising in the apps;

  • use advertising identifiers in the apps; or

  • use app or website information to build advertising profiles.

10. Service providers and other disclosures

Atrione uses Squarespace for website hosting and website analytics, Google for website analytics and support email, and Apple and Google for their respective app-store, billing, subscription, and device-backup services.

Atrione may also disclose information when reasonably necessary:

  • at the user’s direction or with the user’s consent;

  • to service providers performing services for Atrione;

  • to professional advisers such as attorneys, accountants, or insurers;

  • to protect rights, safety, security, or property;

  • to investigate fraud, misuse, security incidents, or technical problems;

  • to comply with applicable law, legal process, or government requests; or

  • in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale, or transfer of all or part of Atrione’s business.

Service providers may process information only as necessary to perform services for Atrione, subject to applicable agreements and their own legal obligations. When Atrione provides personal information to a service provider, Atrione requires privacy and security protections consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law. Information processed by service providers may be stored in the United States or other jurisdictions and may be available to governmental authorities under applicable law.

11. Retention summary

Local app information: Retained on the device until the app or its stored data is removed, subject to Apple- or Google-managed device backups.

Support communications: Generally retained for up to 24 months after a matter closes, subject to the exceptions in Section 5 and earlier deletion when reasonably practicable and legally permitted.

Google Analytics: User- and event-level analytics data is generally retained for two months under the configured setting.

Squarespace information: Retained according to Atrione’s Squarespace settings and Squarespace’s applicable practices.

Store and backup information: Retained by Apple or Google under their own policies. Atrione cannot directly delete information controlled independently by Apple or Google.

12. Privacy choices and requests

Users may contact `support@beforethewhistlewrestling.com` to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that Atrione actually controls, or to ask a question or submit a complaint about this Privacy Policy.

Atrione may need to verify a request and may retain information when required or permitted by law. Subject to applicable law, a user may request:

  • confirmation of whether Atrione holds personal information about them;

  • access to personal information Atrione controls;

  • correction of inaccurate information;

  • deletion of information Atrione controls; or

  • information about Atrione’s privacy practices.

Where Atrione relies on consent to process personal information, the person who provided that consent may withdraw it by contacting Atrione or by using an applicable website or browser privacy control. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before the withdrawal and may be subject to legal or contractual restrictions.

For information controlled by Apple or Google, including store accounts, payment information, device backups, and independently controlled store information, requests should be directed to the applicable provider.

For information stored only on the device, the user controls deletion through the device as described in Section 3.

Atrione does not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.

13. Security

Most workout and preference information remains on the user’s device and is protected by the security controls of the device and operating system.

Atrione uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the limited information handled through support communications and website operations. No device, email system, storage system, website, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

14. Third-party privacy practices

Third-party services process information under their own privacy practices. Relevant policies include:

Links from the website or apps to other third-party destinations are governed by the privacy practices of those third parties.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Atrione may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the apps, website, business practices, service providers, law, or app-store requirements. The updated policy will identify a new “Last updated” date.

When reasonably appropriate, material changes will also be communicated through the apps, website, or another reasonable method. Changes apply prospectively except where immediate application is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
